About
when i first created nenni, i did so to reflect my gender identity at the time. i identified as non-binary transmasc and created an oc to match. but as my gender identity journey changed, i decided to change nenni's alongside it. thus, as of 2022 nenni uses she/her pronouns and identifies as non-binary as i do.this may cause some confusion, as old posts and pictures will refer to he/him. i ask you to respectfully keep in mind the fluidity of my sexuality and also that my oc is a reflection of myself when it comes to gender.
About
while nenni gained a lot of traction for her ability to produce antidotes & potions, she continued studying the art of poisons as a personal project. she was fascinated with the idea that alchemy was an art form which maintained the balance of life & death while also being a catalyst for either. with one vial, a potion could save a life. with another, it could destroy an entire city.she began to sell her poisons to gangs in the city, offering her experimental work for a large sum of gil. at first, this began as a small venture on the side but she soon began earning enough money to have her own store commissioned; alyssum apothecary.the store's front is a potion and alchemy hub, where you can purchase anything from love elixirs to potions of mind and strength. naturally, it became well-known that nenni was proficient in creating deadly weapons as well as useful potions and salves.she also began dabbling in goldsmithing, as she later became infatuated with the goal of creating more than just gold. she wished to find the means to transmute almost anything she liked into something of value, finding a purpose for every plant, every vial, every liquid source in the world.performing feats of miracle wonder, really. some considered her goals far too ambitious, encroaching on the idea that gods were the only ones capable of such magic. she has been called many things for her quest, from heretic, to crazy, to god itself. the latter sometimes going to her head.she also has created gender-affirming potions which, for a price, can be bought by those wishing to change the pitch of their voice or even help alter aspects of their facial hair.
personality
one of the first things you might notice about nenni is her confidence. whether she’s talking about alchemist recipes, dealing with local gangs or arguing with religious fanatics about how it’s “totally legitimate to try and square up with god’s creations” she does so with a genuine charisma and confidence that isn’t easy to knock.she can be playful but in a more sarcastic and uppity way, as she generally knows that her intelligence is higher than the average fool dabbling with potions and she likes to make that known. cocky is a word you could also use but it’s a little more subtle than just outright bragging.her weaknesses lie in her pride, after all she isn’t a god and isn’t close to being one. she can be ignorant about faith as a result of how arrogant she becomes in challenging it and to her fellow alchemist he encourages contests when there is no need for it.she can be impatient with people who seek to waste her time and can be outright rude when people persist in attempting to belittle or annoy her. and while she may not use a sword to settle any differences, there is always the threat that your tea is laced with something more than just milk.i would never consider her a loving or overly affectionate person. when she makes friends she does so to form advantages or to have useful contacts. anyone outside of that who do manage to become her friends are people who can handle the fiery retorts and wit she frequently challenges them with. close friends are a small intricate circle and romantic partners are brief and infrequent.you can find out more about these relationships here
